Description

Enjoy your festive White Chocolate Snowman Treats!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound white chocolate, chopped
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips (for buttons and eyes)
  • 1 cup orange candy-coated chocolates (for noses)
  • 8 pretzel sticks (for arms)
  • 1 cup fondant or red candy melts (for scarves)
  • 1 tube black decorating gel (for smiles)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ganache:
    • In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it just begins to simmer. Remove from heat.
    • Add the chopped white chocolate to the cream. Let it sit for a minute, then stir until smooth.
    • Mix in the vanilla extract.
    • Chill the mixture for about 2 hours until it is firm enough to scoop.
  2. Form the Snowman Bodies:
    • Using a melon baller or spoon, scoop and roll the ganache into balls. Create two different sizes for the snowman’s body and head.
    • Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Chill again if they become too soft.
  3. Assemble the Snowmen:
    • Melt a small amount of white chocolate to act as glue.
    • Attach the smaller ball (head) to the larger one (body) using the melted chocolate.
    • Use pretzel sticks for arms, inserting them on the sides of the larger ball.
  4. Decorate:
    • Attach mini chocolate chips for eyes and buttons with melted chocolate.
    • Use orange candy-coated chocolates for noses.
    • Roll out fondant or melt red candy melts to create scarves, wrapping them around the neck.
    • Use black decorating gel to draw smiles.
  5. Final Touches:
    • Chill the snowmen until firm, about 30 minutes.

Notes

  • To prevent the ganache from melting while rolling, keep your hands cool and dry.
  • Use a toothpick to help with the precise application of melted chocolate while decorating.
  • If the ganache becomes too soft while working, pop it back in the refrigerator for a few minutes.
