- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (or to taste)
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon hot sauce (like Tabasco)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Lemon wedges (for serving)
Instructions
- If not already done, peel and devein the shrimp, then rinse under cold water, and pat dry.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and allow it to heat up.
- Once the oil is hot, add minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add cayenne pepper, smoked paprika, thyme, and oregano to the skillet. Stir for about 30 seconds to release the flavors.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet. Cook for about 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently, until they turn pink and opaque.
- Pour in Worcestershire sauce and hot sauce, then stir well to coat the shrimp evenly.
- Add salt and pepper to taste. Adjust the seasoning or spice level if desired.
- Top with chopped green onions and parsley for freshness.
- Finally, plate the Spicy Voodoo Shrimp and serve hot with lemon wedges on the side.
