Ingredients

- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)
- 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg, room temperature
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine warm milk and sugar; sprinkle yeast on top. Allow it to sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour and salt. Make a well in the center; add melted butter, egg, and yeast mixture. Mix until combined.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and shape each into a ball and place on a greased baking sheet.
- Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes while preheating the oven to 375°F.
- Bake for about 20 minutes until golden brown. Brush with melted butter if desired.
