One-Pot Cheesy Kielbasa Pasta

Description

A delicious and easy one-pot meal featuring smoked kielbasa, rotini pasta, and cheddar cheese.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 pound Smoked Kielbasa (sliced into 1/4 inch slices)
  • 1/2 Yellow Onion (finely diced)
  • 2 teaspoons Minced Garlic
  • 2 cups Chicken Broth
  • 1 can Diced Tomatoes (10 ounce can)
  • 16 oz Rotini Pasta (uncooked)
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Pepper
  • 1 1/2 cup Cheddar Cheese (shredded)

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large deep saucepan over medium high heat.
  2. Add in the diced Kielbasa and onions for 5-6 minutes until the sausage is browned and onions are soft.
  3. Add in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until aromatic.
  4. Then stir in the diced tomatoes, pasta, milk and seasonings.
  5. Slowly add in chicken broth until the pasta is covered (approximately 2 cups). Stir to combine.
  6. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
  7. Let simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally until the pasta is fully cooked.
  8. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese.
  9. Cover and let sit until the cheese is melted.
  10. Serve immediately while warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • This dish is best served immediately when the cheese is gooey and delicious.
  • Feel free to add more vegetables like spinach or bell peppers for added nutrition.
